Spurs’ meeting with Durant wraps; now what?

The Spurs held their much-anticipated free-agent meeting with Kevin Durant on Saturday morning in The Hamptons. Now the wait is on to see how they should proceed during free agency.

A contingent from San Antonio including general manager R.C. Buford, coach Gregg Popovich and All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge met with Durant and his representatives beginning at 10 a.m., New York time. The sit-down — short and sweet by NBA free agency standards — wrapped around noon.

The Spurs were the fourth team to meet with Durant during the free agency process, joining the incumbent Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State, and the Los Angeles Clippers, who entertained the former league MVP for a reported four-hour marathon session Friday night.
