The Brooklyn Nets are making a strong push to lure Spurs assistant general manager Sean Marks to fill their vacant GM position.
After meeting with Nets executives in Toronto over All-Star weekend, Marks appears to be the No. 1 choice to replace Billy King, league sources said Tuesday.
The 40-year-old Marks, who spent two of his 11 NBA seasons with the Spurs from 2004 to 2006, has been on staff since 2012. He has served alternately as a front-office executive and an assistant coach.
The Nets’ GM job has been open since early January, when King stepped down amid a Brooklyn housecleaning that included the firing of coach Lionel Hollins.
