As Dan Weiss pointed out in last night’s pregame, the pace of the NBA has sped up over the last few seasons. And this season, the Spurs played in one of the fastest paced games in their season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies.
It is the dawning of a new day, and as such, should be dubbed accordingly.
For the greater part of this century, the Spurs were anchored by the presence of Tim Duncan. Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker. The “Big 3” reigned supreme through four championships, a continuous string of postseason appearances, and consistent All-Star representations.
