Spurs’ Leonard back at practice

NEW ORLEANS — Kawhi Leonard returned to Spurs practice Thursday at the Smoothie King Center after missing the past two games with a sore left hand.

Though no determination has been made about his availability Friday night against New Orleans, Leonard’s participation in the Spurs’ off-day workout clears a path for the All-Star to get back on the floor.

Leonard pumped in a career-best 41 points to key an overtime victory in Cleveland on Saturday, then missed wins at Brooklyn and Toronto with what coach Gregg Popovich called “an injury that’s not an injury.”

“Nothing’s injured or broken or needs to be X-Rayed or anything like that,” Popovich said before the game in Brooklyn.
