Spurs’ Leonard a game-time decision for Game 6, Popovich says

HOUSTON – Spurs All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard’s status for Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals Thursday night remains questionable.

“Game-time decision,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said when asked after shootaround Thursday morning if he had an update regarding Leonard’s sprained left ankle.

Leonard participated in the shootaround, although it’s unclear to what degree. During the portion of shootaround open to the media, Leonard did not appear to be favoring the ankle.

Popovich said there is no “empirical formula” for deciding whether Leonard will play.

“You watch, you feel, you talk to the player, and you come to a decision,” Popovich said.
