The Spurs have exercised the third year option in the rookie contract Kyle Anderson signed after the Spurs made him the final selection of the first round of the 2014 NBA draft.
The deadline for picking up the third year options is Monday but the Spurs moved to secure Anderson’s third year before the regular seaosn opener in Oklahoma City, when Gregg Popovich used him in his 10-man playing rotation.
The 6-foot-9 forward from UCLA said just getting to play in the season opener was a huge step.
“You look back to opening night last year and I didn’t see the floor, so to be able to get out there and play the game I love was fun.
