France and San Antonio Spurs center Joffrey Lauvergne’s run at the 2017 Eurobasket tournament has come to an end after France was narrowly defeated by Germany Saturday. Even though France opened the game with an early nine-point lead in the first quarter, Les Bleus couldn’t sustain the momementum as the German duo of Dallas Mavericks point Dennis Schroder (21 points, 8 assists) and Boston Celtics forward Daniel Theis (22 points, 7 rebounds) prevailed to be too much for France.
France was led by three of their NBA players in Orlando Magic guard Evan Fournier (27 points), Boris Diaw (15 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists) and Lauvergne, who finished with 13 points (6-11 shooting) and seven rebounds in 17 minutes of play.
