The Spurs own the 29th pick in the June 23 draft, a spot from which the odds of selecting an immediate contributor are not high. In 2011, the last time the Spurs had the penultimate pick in a draft, they grabbed solid-if-not-spectacular backup point guard Cory Joseph out of the University of Texas. They’d be thrilled to add a similar talent later this month. The Spurs do not own a second-round pick, having dealt it to Sacramento last summer for guard Ray McCallum. Between now and draft day, we will use this space to profile selected players the Spurs might consider late in the first round.
