J.J. Redick of the Los Angeles Clippers hosts his own podcast each week and this week’s guest was former teammate Spencer Hawes.
The big man is currently playing for the Charlotte Hornets, but it turns out he almost became a San Antonio Spur. He was with the Philadelphia 76ers and he was a classic case of an expiring contract that would be easily expendable that could be moved.
Hawes tells the story of how he thought during the NBA trade deadline of 2014 that he would end up in San Antonio. Instead, he ended up getting traded to the Cavs and he talks about how it never ends up being the place that you hear the most about, but the one you hear nothing of at all.
