SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 19, 2015) – Silver & Black Give Back today announced 18 student-led groups as the 2015-16 Team Up Challenge semifinalists. Each group will be awarded a share of $50,000 to begin their service-learning projects. The 18 semifinalists were selected based on proposals submitted for projects to improve their communities. Semifinalists were announced in a surprise ceremony on the grounds of the AT&T Center, with help from Spurs forward Boris Diaw, the Silver Dancers, the Rampage Ice Girls, Coyote, T-Bone, and Andrew Monaco.
This year’s semifinalist projects span a broad range of community needs, focusing on improving the environment, serving underprivileged families, healthy living education, and disaster relief.
