The San Antonio Spurs lost their starting point guard and their best defender this week as Dejounte Murray went down with a torn ACL.
The third-year player was primed for a breakout year as he was going to be handed the keys at point guard after Tony Parker had filled that position for so many years.
San Antonio waived Jaron Blossingame after receiving the results of Murray’s MRI, and many speculated that could preclude a move for the Spurs to add another point guard.
However, it looks like the front office’s focus was to find a versatile defender as they replaced Blossingame with Josh Huestis.
