SAN ANTONIO -- The Spurs announced Monday that they have signed former Minnesota Timberwolves guard Andre Miller, an indication the club isn't confident in the recovery timeframe for guard Manu Ginobili, who has been out of action after undergoing testicular surgery.
The Spurs didn't disclose terms of the contract.
Miller, 39, ranks No. 9 in NBA history in career assists (8,495). He was averaging 3.4 points and 2.2 assists per game while connecting on 62.1 percent from the field over 26 outings before the Timberwolves waived him Feb. 25.
