NBA free agency has been somewhat quiet for the San Antonio Spurs, aside from re-signing Patty Mills to a 4-year, $50 million deal. No other signings or trades of San Antonio’s have been reported since.
There’s one player the Spurs want, though, according to ESPN’s Chris Haynes: it’s Jamal Crawford, now of the Atlanta Hawks. The Cleveland Cavaliers also showed interest.
On July 3, Crawford was sent to the Hawks in a proposed three-team trade, along with Diamond Stone and the Houston Rockets first-round pick, via the Los Angeles Clippers. This sent Paul Millsap to the Denver Nuggets and Danilo Gallinari to the Clippers.
