During Thursday night’s game vs. the New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs forward Rudy Gay suffered a right heel injury. He limped off the court, headed toward the locker room and never returned. An MRI was set to follow on Friday, Dec, 29.
Well, the Spurs made the official announcement. After the MRI, it was determined that Gay suffered a right retrocalcaneal bursitis. He will rest, rehab and be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Technically, that means Gay won’t play for the rest of 2017. He will be back in 2018. How well these two weeks go remains to be seen.
