After a promising performance in Wednesday’s preseason game against the Hawks, San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich announced that new starting point guard Derrick White was expected to miss six-to-eight weeks due to a left plantar fascia tear.
White had just dropped 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting as a starter in Atlanta with six rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal in 29 minutes.
Spurs fans were starting to think that he could fill in admirably while Dejounte Murray recovers from a torn ACL.
The original prognosis seemed dark, but Popovich has updated his comments saying White may only miss two-to-four weeks according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.
