On Monday night, the 2017 NBA Awards will take place. It’s the first time the league has used a one-night event to crown the award-winning players, as there’s usually a press conference for the biggest awards given. This includes the NBA Defensive Player of the Year and MVP awards, which the San Antonio Spurs will be represented in.
Hours before the event, other awards were handed out, including the 2017 NBA All-Defensive Teams being set. Two Spurs made this: Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green.
As ESPN’s Chris Haynes reported in the final vote tally, Leonard made the first team and Green earned a second team spot:
This is Leonard’s third time on the All-Defensive first team and fourth overall spot on a Defensive Team.
