Rudy Gay completed his first season with the San Antonio Spurs in 2017-18, the first stretch of games since he tore his Achilles with the Sacramento Kings in January 2017. A career-debilitating injury, Gay did not miss time to open the year, until a heel ailment arrived in December and consumed the next two months.
In July, Gay re-signed with San Antonio on a one-year, $10 million contract for 2018-19, so Spurs fans will see what he can do over one season removed from the Achilles rupture.
It’s another year of Gay, but, before that, let’s celebrate his 32nd birthday, which is Friday, Aug.
