Before Tim Duncan, David Robinson was the main player in San Antonio Spurs history. His arrival in 1989 began the organization’s run through the early 1990s, with Sean Elliott right behind him, on 50-win teams that contended for championships and eventually won them in 1999.
The Spurs had to wait for Robinson, as they selected him in the 1987 NBA Draft, but due to commitments to the Navy, he did not join the team until 1989. The timespan proved worthwhile, though, as San Antonio found a hall of fame center.
Through 14 seasons, Robinson piled up accolades.
