Ettore Messina has agreed to accept a two-year contract extension from the San Antonio Spurs to remain on Gregg Popovich's coaching staff.
"In San Antonio I feel they want me. They did not wait for a second, there is a new contract waiting, I have to sign it," Messina told Il Corriere della Sera, according to Sportando.com.
Prior to joining Popovich's coaching staff in July 2014, Messina worked for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2011-12 season and then moved on to CSKA Moscow to be their head coach from 2012-14.
