The Spurs have signed summer league center Youssou Ndoye for training camp with the intent of grooming him this season in Austin, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Ndoye, who stands 7-0 with a 7-5 wingspan, was mediocre in Las Vegas, averaging 3.2 points on 36-percent shooting as the Spurs won the championship.
That came after a quality senior season at St. Bonaventure, where Ndoye averaged 11.8 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks. Despite that production, the Senegal native went undrafted last month.
The Spurs have had considerable success with their Developmental League affiliate, most recently signing Jonathon Simmons for the 2015-16 NBA season after a quality year.
