According to ESPN’s Michael Wright, the San Antonio Spurs 2017 draft pick Jaron Blossomgame will sign a standard contract with their G-League affiliate in Austin.
Reports earlier in the summer indicated that he would sign a two-way deal with the Spurs, making him eligible to participate in the NBA for up to 45 days per season (excluding the postseason) before becoming a restricted free agent after two years. Those rumors turned out to be incorrect.
With a standard G-League contract, the Spurs will maintain Blossomgame’s bird rights and are the only team eligible to sign him in any capacity.
