Sean Elliott will be forever remembered by Spurs fans. Elliott was on the infamous 1996-97 Spurs team that went 20-62. That was the last season the Spurs missed the postseason. As a result of winning only 20 games, the Spurs got the first pick in the 1997 NBA Draft. With the pick they took Tim Duncan. I know, what Spurs fans are thinking, it was worth it, no question.
The primary reasons the Spurs only won 20 games that year was because Elliott played in only 39 games and superstar center David Robinson played in only 6 games.
