ATLANTA – Following the game against the Spurs on Saturday, Atlanta forward Paul Millsap did his best to describe the loss, calling it “tough” and explaining how the Hawks “overthought” things on offense.
The Spurs know all about overthinking, but they may be one of the only teams in the NBA that can overthink and still come away with a victory.
Kawhi Leonard led the way with 22 points, eight rebounds, five steals and four assists, helping the Spurs beat the Hawks, 103-78, at Philips Arena.
The Spurs played well offensively, but it was their defense that made the difference, holding the Hawks to a season-low 78 points on 37.
