Minnesota Timberwolves coach Sam Mitchell didn’t mention anything about getting a win before Monday’s contest against the Spurs.
The main objective was for the young Timberwolves to learn something against an experienced team in hopes of one day using any takeaways for themselves.
Turns out the Spurs were almost in need of a lesson themselves: never disrespect an opponent.
Kawhi Leonard and Boban Marjanovic both finished with 17 points in the victory, helping the escape with a 101-95 victory at AT&T Center. Manu Ginobili recorded 13 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Tony Parker had 12 points and seven assists.
