Former NBA star Lamar Odom remained in critical condition Friday in Las Vegas, where he has been hospitalized since collapsing Tuesday in what authorities are calling a drug overdose.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who an assistant on the 2004 U.S. Olympic team that included Odom, added to the outpouring concern across the league for the two-time NBA champion.
“I don’t concentrate on what kind of player he is,” Popovich said after Friday’s practice. “I feel all the other things, because I know him as a person. Warm-hearted. Good-humored. Wonderful guy to be around. Who cares about how he played?
