Unless you count stray corners of the Internet, the reaction to LaMarcus Aldridge’s rather pedestrian Spurs debut Thursday has been sober and reasonable.
After Aldridge scored eight points on 3-of-10 shooting in a 95-92 loss at Sacramento, the general consensus across the league was that, of course, it’s going to take the Spurs’ newest $84 million man time to acclimate to his new surroundings.

“He’s LaMarcus Aldridge,” Popovich said after Saturday’s practice. “He’s going to score for us, he’s going to play defense, he’s going to do a great job.
