SAN ANTONIO – Rookie center Boban Marjanovic logged 24 minutes in his NBA Developmental League debut on Friday night after averaging just 3.8 minutes over 10 games with the Spurs.
And that’s the whole point of sending him to Austin – increased action on the court.
“He just needs playing time,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “He needs to play and get used to the league and not just sit there and watch us play. So that’s the main thing, just play.”
Marjanovic tallied 16 points on 7 of 11 Friday night. He also contributed nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in a 102-94 to the Westchester Knicks.
