Spurs coach Gregg Popovich responded — sort of — to comments from a longtime New York talk radio host who said assistant coach Becky Hammon had “no shot” at becoming an NBA head coach someday.
Mike Francesca made the remarks on his radio show Wednesday. Popovich became aware of them later.
“I don’t pay attention to it,” Popovich said Saturday, “because it’s nonsense.”
A caller on Francesca’s show asked if he believed Hammon would ever have a chance to helm her own NBA team.
“No shot,” Francesca said. “I mean, the odds are a million to one.
