As soon as free agency opened over the summer, the Spurs re-signed Patty Mills to a four-year, $50 million deal. It was a swift, decisive move, clearly showing that Mills was one of their main offseason priorities.
The 29-year-old said Tuesday that the way the Spurs handled his free agency meant a lot to him.
“At the end of the day, it was a reminder of how important I am to this organization,” Mills said. “Not only for now, but for the future as well.”
Mills averaged 9.5 points and 3.5 assists on 44 percent shooting last season.
