After a preseason so far that has consisted of both rest and rehabilitation, Boris Diaw has been cleared to make his debut along with the refurbished AT&T Center on Sunday against Detroit.
“I’m still French though,” Diaw said, referencing coach Gregg Popovich’s reason for holding him out of previous games. “I was being French the other game. I’m still French, but I’m playing this one.”
The Spurs will be without Diaw’s fellow countryman, however, as Tony Parker will be getting the R&R treatment Sunday. He is dealing with a sore ankle.
“Tony isn’t (playing), so he became more French,” Diaw said.
