NEW ORLEANS -- Alexis Ajinca has been diagnosed with a fractured sternum and will miss at least Thursday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs, the Pelicans announced.
The 27-year-old center suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's 100-95 loss to the Houston Rockets, according to the Pelicans. An MRI this afternoon revealed the injury.
The Pelicans have already lost Tyreke Evans (right knee surgery), Quincy Pondexter (left knee surgery) and Bryce Dejean-Jones (right wrist surgery) for the season, and Omer Asik is expected to miss two weeks after spraining his right ankle Sunday in Detroit.
