Forward David West could have made $12.6 million with the Indiana Pacers this past season had he picked up his 2015-16 player option last year. West decided to chase an NBA championship with the San Antonio Spurs last July as a free agent, so he left the $12.6 million on the table and accepted a two-year veteran minimum contract. Unfortunately for West, he and the Spurs were knocked out of the 2016 playoffs by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round, so he did not get the ring this season and he lost a lot of money.
