NBA GMs love Leonard, but not as MVP

This year’s annual NBA.com general manager’s survey is out and as usual, the league is in love — or at least really, really in like — with the Spurs.

Among the highlights:

The Spurs are picked as the second-best team in the West over the Los Angeles Clippers by 76.7 percent of the vote — no small accomplishment given that the guys from Golden State are the overwhelming choice as the conference’s best team.

Kawhi Leonard was voted the best perimeter defender and the best overall defender in the NBA, no surprise given he has won two straight Defensive Player of the Year awards.
