In another blow to a season spiraling out of control for the wounded Memphis Grizzlies, star foward Zach Randolph will not play tonight against the Spurs while dealing with a sprained ankle.
Randolph did not participate in Memphis’ shootaround this morning, and could miss more than one game, the Commercial-Appeal’s Ronald Tillery reported.
Randolph joins a list of Grizzlies inactives tonight that, in itself, would make a pretty good team: Marc Gasol (broken foot), Mike Conley (Achilles tendinitis), Brandan Wright (MCL sprain), P.J. Hairson (groin strain) and Jordan Adams (knee surgery) are also out.
Even with the Spurs missing Kawhi Leonard (thigh contusion) and with coach Gregg Popovich choosing to also rest Danny Green, Boris Diaw and Patty Mills, this one might not be a fair fight.
