Ginobili: ‘The fire is still burning’

Manu Ginobili had almost every reason to call it quits this summer and retire after one of the most decorated and successful careers in Spurs history.

He’s financially set for life. He has a wife and three young sons to enjoy. And with his 38th birthday looming at the end of the month, Ginobili has to work harder than ever to maintain himself for competition in the world’s best basketball league.

In the end, however, his reason for coming back to play a 14th season with the Spurs was the same he ever came here in the first place: The fire is still burning.
