France survived the opening game of EuroBasket 2015 by the skin of its teeth, dominating in overtime to outlast Finland 97-87 Saturday in front of a partisan crowd at Montpellier.
Spurs point guard Tony Parker was outstanding, leading all scorers with 23 points to go with five rebounds and three assists. Teammate Boris Diaw had eight points, four rebounds and three assists, and former Spur Nano De Colo chipped in with 16 points.
France led by 14 points late before Finland rallied to knot the score at 81 in the final seconds of regulation. Parker had a shot at the winner but missed a difficult leaner in the lane.
