The original embodiment of black-and-silver stardom, George Gervin has earned the #47 ranking on ESPN's All-Time #NBArank.
Although his number wasn't the first retired by the Spurs (that honor belongs to James Silas), Gervin was the first shooting guard to win three shooting titles consecutively. His four scoring championships rank third of all time, behind Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan.
Gervin joined San Antonio in 1974 and spent 12 seasons with the Spurs, garnering 12 straight All-Star selections.
The man with the trademark finger roll, Gervin lead San Antonio by scoring double figures in 407 consecutive games, and helped the Spurs clinch five division titles.
