A couple of Spurs players got a chuckle Wednesday, when news spread of a Robert E. Lee High School alum’s petition to change the name of his former school.
The new proposed name: Gregg Popovich High School.
“I’ve never been to the school before, but I’d better sign it,” guard Patty Mills said. “Sounds like a good plan.”
Spurs forward David West started giggling when asked if he’d be up for putting his name to the cause.
“I don’t know,” he said.
And what would a good mascot for such a high school be?
