SAN ANTONIO – If the Spurs had their way, fan favorite Boban Marjanovic would still be on their roster after his surprising per-36-minute effort of 21 points and 13.7 rebounds as a rookie last season.
That was clear from the way general manager R.C. Buford lamented the loss of the 7-foot-3 Serbian during a lengthy interview with reporters after Wednesday’s practice.
“From a playing style standpoint, Boban is so unique,” Buford said. “And then from a cultural standpoint, his personality just, you guys know what a great guy he was.
“He was just a terrific fit and we wish him great success in Detroit.
