Becky Hammon will coach the Spurs' Las Vegas summer league team, according to SAEN's Jeff McDonald.
Hammon will become the first woman to coach a summer league team, just a year after Natalie Nakase served as assistant coach with the Clippers. She will also be an assistant to video coordinator Will Hardy, who will be head coach in the Utah summer league.
The Spurs typically send their inexperienced coaches to practice their skills during summer league. Ettore Messina and James Borrego don't need to and Ime Udoka coached last year, so it's nor surprising to see Hammon get a crack at it.
