Battle lines form as union chief fires back at NBA commissioner

We’re still more than a year away from a potential NBA work stoppage — the third in two decades, if either side chooses to opt out of the current collective bargaining agreement in Dec. 2016 — yet the owners and players are already waging battle in court of public opinion.

With NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently alleging that “a significant number of teams” are losing money, despite every indication that league business is booming like never before, National Basketball Players Association chief Michele Roberts released a statement on Thursday that essentially called B.S. on that almost certainly fabricated narrative.
