The Spurs were without one of their top rebounders Saturday, when Kawhi Leonard was forced to miss a 92-83 victory over Philadelphia with a respiratory infection.
LaMarcus Aldridge didn’t necessarily set out to take up the slack. It just worked out that way.
Aldridge snagged a season-high 19 rebounds — including seven on the offensive end — to go with 17 points. It is a total Aldridge has only surpassed four times in his nine-plus seasons.
“I just missed some easy shots, so I was trying to be extra aggressive on the offensive boards to get a rhythm,” Aldridge said.
