Aldridge flourishes in first full-squad game

We got our first look at the Spurs’ new-look starting lineup Monday in Miami, and it certainly wasn’t perfect.

Tony Parker was sloppy with three turnovers. Kawhi Leonard, continuing to push the envelope in his quest to become a go-to offensive player, missed 10 of 15 shots with one assist. Danny Green bricked three 3-pointers, all wide open.

And still, even after falling apart in the fourth quarter of their 97-94 loss to Miami, the Spurs surely left AmericanAirlines Arena with a sense of optimism given the overall quality play of their opening unit, particularly that of offseason prize LaMarcus Aldridge.
