Dewayne Dedmon is not a doctor, but he knew Tony Parker’s left leg injury was serious Wednesday night when the Spurs point guard had to be carried off the court at the AT&T Center.
Watching on television, Dr. Josh Bell — who is a doctor — had the same thought.
“When is the last time you saw a player carried off the court?” said Bell, a knee specialist with the Sports Institute at the San Antonio Orthopedic Group. “It almost never happens. That’s when you knew it was bad.”
Bell is not Parker’s doctor. He has not seen the results of Parker’s MRI, which the Spurs report show a rupture of the quadriceps tendon in the 34-year-old’s left knee.
