The San Antonio Spurs signed forward JaMychal Green to a ten-day contract on Saturday, and the former member of the D-League's Austin Spurs is ready to provide a spark for the team off the bench.
“I’m just going to play hard,” Green said, via NBA.com. “This is a blessing, and I’m going to do everything that Coach Popovich asks me to do. It’s all about helping us win. Whether it’s rebounding, defending, I’ll do anything to win.”
Green, 24, was named the NBA D-League's Player of the Month for December, averaging a double-double (24.3 points, 11.3 rebounds) to help lead Austin to a 9-1 record on the month.

“He's a real active kid, long, a good athlete, and pretty tough minded,” coach Gregg Popovich said.
To Spurs assistant GM Sean Marks, Green's rise to the NBA roster is the product of obvious hard work.
“He’s far more reliable now than two years ago,” Marks said. “He worked so hard to improve his game, did a tremendous job in the D-League, and now he’s here.”
