MORAGA, Calif. — The Gaels (7-4) came from behind on Wednesday to defeat Furman (13-4, 1-0 SoCon) and snap the Paladins' 11-match win streak. Aubane Ville secured the win in singles play by grinding out a three-set, tiebreaker match.
Furman took the doubles point with 6-2 wins on both courts 2 and 3. Mariia Kozyreva and Danielle McIntyre were locked up 5-5 in their match against the Paladins' #36 tandem of Adams/Kozarov before it was called.
Saint Mary's quickly retook the lead however with straight set wins by Lene Mari Hovda and Gabriela Tevez.
