MORAGA, Calif. — The Gaels got off to a good start in their match against San Diego (8-3, 2-0 WCC) on Saturday by winning the doubles point but USD fought back in singles to grab a number of close matches and take the contest, 5-2.
"That was a great match against a really good USD team," said Saint Mary's head coach Simon Harston. "We are playing without one of our top singles players right now and to be in that tough of a fight still shows the depth of our lineup and the heart this team has.
