SURPRISE, Ariz. — Sophomore Mariia Kozyreva competed at the ITA National Fall Championships on Tuesday among some of the nation's best collegiate talent.
Kozyreva squared off against No. 26-ranked Lauren Proctor of Winthrop in the Round of 64 to kick off the tournament. The two ladies battled back and forth in the first set but eventually Proctor put Kozyreva away to win the opening set, 6-4. The second set proved to be more decisive as Proctor took the match with a 6-1 performance to advance to the next round.
