FRESNO, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team played yet another nationally ranked opponent Saturday away from home, this time facing No. 40 Washington State at Fresno State’s Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center, where the Cougars came away with a 5-1 victory over the Gaels.
Freshman Clementine Clement was the Gaels’ (2-6) lone winner, defeating Washington State’s Aneta Miksovska 6-2, 7-5, at No. 5 singles. Washington State (13-1) earned the doubles point to start the match with victories at No. 2 (6-3) and No. 3 (6-4). Washington State also earned wins at the top four singles spots.
