STANFORD, Calif. — Saint Mary's battled on the road at No. 9 Stanford on Tuesday but were unable to overcome the Cardinal in a 7-0 loss.
The Gaels came close to earning the doubles point as Mariia Kozyreva and Danielle McIntyre were edged in a tiebreaker 7-6(6) and Chloe Goyette and Jordan Harris were locked up 6-6 on court 2. Stanford won the point after earning a 6-1 set on court 3.
Once again, the Gaels were edged in singles despite the final score. In three matches, SMC forced a third set tiebreaker but each match would end up going to Stanford.
